Cru Co-Founder Vonette Bright, 89, Died Dec. 23

Vonette Zachary Bright, the late William "Bill" R. Bright and co-founder of Campus Crusade for Christ—today known as Cru—died December 23 after suffering complications from acute leukemia. She was 89. Mrs. Bright and her husband launched Campus Crusade for Christ in 1951 to "win the campus today, win the world tomorrow." Read more from CBN News. Also see Cru's tribute website.

Winnie Rorheim, 97, wife of Awana Co-Founder Art Rorheim, Died Dec. 22

Winnie Rorheim, wife of Awana Co-Founder Art Rorheim, died December 22 in Rockford, Illinois. She was 97. Mrs. Rorheim is known best for serving alongside her husband as he created and pioneered the Awana program for children. Kentucky School Play Audience Members Recite Bible Passage Deleted from ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’

Though local school officials deleted a Bible passage from a student production of A Charlie Brown Christmas despite protests, several adults in the audience at the performance recited the lines normally spoken by the character Linus. Read more from Lexington Herald-Leader.

Fifty years ago the television animated special A Charlie Brown Christmas premiered on the CBS network. The pinnacle scene in the program is when Linus recites Luke 2:8-14, after which he says, “That’s what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown.” Watch the video.

Beaumont, Texas Will Allow Police Officers To Use Station For Bible Study
