Christians are "clearly the most persecuted group" in the world, the President of the European Parliament (EP) said in a high-level meeting on religious persecution in Brussels. EP vice-president Antonio Tajani, said: "Every day, in every region of our planet, we register new cases of systematic violence and persecution against Christians. No other religious community is faced with such hatred, violence, and aggression as is the Christian community." Read more from HNGN. A graduate student discovered a first edition of the 1611 King James Bible in the Drew University library. The Bible is a so-called “He Bible,” named for a typographical error in the book of Ruth that was corrected in the middle of the first printing. Of the fewer than 200 King James first editions known to survive, most are “She” copies. The King James Bible represents a pivotal point in the history of religious expression, the history of printing, and the development of the English language. Read more from The New York Times. In this seventh lesson about studying the Bible, pastor and author Mel Lawrenz says, "Our attitude as Bible students must first be 'what did this author mean in writing these particular words to that particular audience at that particular time?' We have to focus on the original meaning first. And that has to do with the intent of the author." If you want to study the Bible better, read this installment of his series on our Blog and encourage your friends and followers to receive it by email.
