Dr. R.C. Sproul and Ligonier Ministries have released The Word Made Flesh: The Ligonier Statement on Christology. Ligonier’s chief academic officer and president of Reformation Bible College Dr. Stephen J. Nichols says, "We want this statement to be a gateway back into Scripture. What if he would do these things today? Bible Gateway interviewed pastor Mark Batterson about his book, The Grave Robber: How Jesus Can Make Your Impossible Possible (Baker Books, 2014). Read this interview.
One of the great challenges in reading the Bible is the massive chronological and cultural gap between the Bible's original audiences and modern readers. Is it possible for a modern Bible reader to appreciate the mindset of the Bible's ancient Jewish and Christian authors and readers?
Those are questions that Kent Dobson seeks to address as editor of the NIV First-Century Study Bible (Zondervan, 2014). Read this interview with Rev. Dobson.

In this 16th lesson about studying the Bible, pastor and author Mel Lawrenz says, "One of the most powerful and complex features of the Bible is that it consists of many different types, or genres, of texts. When I open the Bible, I know from having studied it for decades whether I am reading a Gospel passage, a prophecy, a Psalm, or an epistle." If you want to study the Bible better, read this installment of his series on our Blog and encourage your friends and followers to receive it by email.

The “Pauline epistles”—letters written by the influential apostle Paul—are particularly central to Christian belief. Join us each Monday during Lent as we take a look at a different epistle. This week we're looking at Paul’s words of encouragement and caution to the Ephesians. Paul wrote this letter to encourage Gentile believers, and to make it clear that Jews and Gentiles have been brought together as part of one body in Christ. Paul is also concerned that his audience be made aware of the moral laws they may have been lax in following (or that they were unaware of). Read more.
